Position: Production Assistant

Work Method: Hybrid (in-person and remote)

In-Person Location: Baldwin Wallace University (Berea, OH)

Start Date: February 25, 2025 (preferred)

End Date: July 25, 2025

Type: Internship (Flexible work hours are commensurate with the intern’s degree program requirements.)

Job Description: The Production Assistant will work closely with our production team, and learn how to coordinate and execute the A Cappella Camp (ACC) concerts and performances throughout the duration of ACC. The final concert and pre-concert productions are a display of the campers’ hard work. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the planning and logistics of concert venues, stage setup, sound equipment, and lighting.

  • Collaborating with ACC staff to coordinate performance and rehearsal schedules, production schedule timelines, and repertoire selection.

  • Providing support during rehearsals and performances, including working directly with and assisting the live engineer, stage management, sound checks, and backstage coordination.

  • Assisting with equipment setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth operation during classes, rehearsals, and concerts.

  • Labeling microphones

  • Concert flier creation and distribution (collaboratively with the digital marketing intern)

  • Distributing and ordering camp t-shirts

  • Shirt design and printing research, merchandising and inventory

  • Contributing creative ideas and solutions to enhance the overall concert experience for campers and audiences; and

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Be enrolled in a university or college program in arts administration, music, event management, theatre production, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Knowledge of audio and lighting equipment (preferred, but not required), stage management techniques, and concert production workflows. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Passion for music and the performing arts, with a desire to create memorable experiences for our young musicians.
