(music instructor)

Jillian Grace is a performer, podcaster and storyteller from Cleveland, Ohio based in Harlem. In 2018 Grace recieved her Bachelor’s of Music from Howard University in Jazz Voice Performance. During her time at Howard, she was a member of the award winning group Afro Blue. Being in Afro Blue allowed Grace a variety of opportunities - such as performing at the Apollo Theater, the White House for President and Mrs. Obama, and alongside musical heavyweights like Esperanza Spalding, Patti Austin, Kelly Clarkson and Chance The Rapper.

Grace was able to take the skills she learned in Afro Blue and quickly applied them to her professional career. Upon graduating, she performed with the National Symphony Orchestra, Damien Sneed and Wynton Marsalis and in venues like the Kennedy Center and Jazz at Lincoln Center.

In 2020, the vocalist enrolled at the Manhattan School of Music where she obtained her Master’s of Music in 2022. During her time at MSM, Grace was under the care of Buster Williams, Marc Cary, Damien Sneed and Jean Baylor. Outside of her collegiate experiences, she has been fortunate enough to play with the American Pops Orchestra in collaboration with PBS, supporting vocalists such as Patti Labelle, Leslie Jordan and many others.

Out of all of these accolades though, her favorite achievement is Link In The Chain which she launched in July 2021. Link in the Chain is a bi-weekly podcast that explores the depth and vastness of Hip Hop, one episode at a time. It is Grace’s hope to professionally live at the intersection of my two loves: Performance and Analysis.
