Position: Grant Writing Assistant

Work Method: Remote

Start Date: May 1, 2024 (preferred)

End Date: July 31, 2024

Type: Internship (Flexible work hours are commensurate with the intern’s degree program requirements.)

Job Description: The Grant Writing Assistant will work closely with our A Cappella Camp (ACC) administrators in learning the fundamentals of grant writing and research. Responsibilities include:

  • Updating central database of potential and former donors

  • Building relationships with foundations, fiscal sponsor, educators and families

  • Conducting research for supportive funding

  • Utilizing foundation directories and other search engine resources

  • Help identify local and national grant opportunities

  • Complete grant applications

  • Calling organizations to present proposals to boards

  • ACC flier distribution to local libraries and other designated locations; and

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Be enrolled in a university or college program in arts administration, nonprofit management, English, communications, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 

  • Have strong writing skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives and persuasive grant proposals.

  • Have excellent research and analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite, with experience in grant writing software (preferred, but not required).

  • Be passionate about music education and the arts, with a commitment to our mission of empowering young musicians.
