Job Description: As an A Cappella Camp Counselor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive, safe, and enriching experience for our campers. You will work closely with other staff members to support the musical and personal growth of our young musicians. Responsibilities include:
Camper Supervision: Oversee a group of campers (aged 12 through 19), ensuring their safety, well-being, and active participation in camp activities.
Daily Activities: Collaborate with other counselors to plan, organize, and lead various recreational and educational activities, which could include vocal warm-ups and morning stretches, based on your experience.
Mentorship: Serve as a positive role model, providing guidance and support to campers, and addressing any behavioral or emotional issues that arise.
Collaboration: Work effectively with other staff members to create a cohesive and supportive camp environment.
Community Building: Foster a supportive and inclusive camp environment, encouraging friendships and teamwork among campers.
Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with camp staff and campers, and parents, as needed. Provide regular updates on campers' progress and well-being; and
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience: Proven experience working with teenagers in a camp, educational, or musical setting. Experience with a cappella music or choral groups is highly desirable but not required.
Skills: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire and motivate young musicians. Proficiency with vocal techniques is a plus.
Education: Degree in Music, Education, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
Passion: A genuine passion for music and working with youth.
Availability: Must be available for the entire duration of the camp, including pre-camp training sessions.
